California Athletic Commission Approves
"FIRST LEGAL JUNIOR" Kickboxing Under IKF!

Katrina Nahe of Antioch, CA & Aneka Otte of Scottsdale, AZ
To Headline The Junior Portion Of This Historical Event.

A.K. Promotions, a Kickboxing promotions' company based out of the Sacramento / Rocklin, CA region in conjunction with Tommy T's Comedy and Dinner Theater of Rancho Cordova and the International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) confirmed this week that twelve year old kickboxing sensation Katrina "The Storm" Nahee (Left) of Antioch will be fighting Friday night, February 12th, 2010 at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento, CA.

Nahee will be one of 16 other bouts between men and women scheduled for this Las Vegas Style night of IKF Championship Kickboxing! This is the first "LEGAL" Full Contact Kickboxing match for fighters under the age of 16 years old in the State of California.

Nahe who is a two time IKF World Classic Champion will be taking on top contender, 14 year old Aneka Otte (Right) of Scottsdale, Arizona for the vacant IKF Junior Amateur IR Western US Atomweight Title.

Nahe is trained by Mr. Dennis Guila of Guila's Kickboxing of Antioch, CA. The 5'1" tall Nahe has been competing in IKF Point Kickboxing Tournaments since the age of around 6 to help prepare her for the full contact fights she participates in today.

In Their Corners...

One thing is for sure, both these young ladies have been trained by plenty of talent. Lets take a closer look at who will be in their corners come fight time...

Nahe is trained by Dennis Guila
With a background in Judo, Boxing, Kenpo, Kajukenbo and tournament competitions as a child, Guila at the age of 18 was introduced to Full Contact Muay Thai/Kickboxing where he fought his way into the Number 1 Light Heavyweight contender position in 1979. Then in 1983 he fought and earned the WKA Heavyweight title out of Hawaii. Over the years he has taught thousands of students from Hawaii to California and is responsible in many of them earning their black belts. In most recent accomplishments Guila's competition team "Team G-Force" has earned over 300 winning places in local, state, national and international competition in everything from Kata, Empty Hand & Weapons, Point Sparring, Continuous Sparring and IKF Point Kickboxing. In August of 2007, 4 of Guila's Full Contact Kickboxing Team Members (Katrina Nahe, Hugo Rivera, Darryn McDade Jr. and Logan Kauth) put Antioch California on the map by bringing home 4 2007 IKF World Classic Tournament Titles. In August 16th, 2008 he was presented with the "Golden Lifetime Achievement Award" and Inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame alongside Champions Kathy Long, Don "The Dragon" Wilson, and the legendary Bill "Superfoot" Wallace.

Otte is trained by Bob Karmel.
Karmel first began his Muay Thai training under Arjarn Surichai Sirisute, of California and has also trained in Thailand. He began promoting Muay Thai in 1991, promoting of first sanctioned Muay Thai Fights in USA, before moving to Arizona where he became the manager of the Famous Fairtex Muay Thai Camp. He Promoted several well known International events in Philadelphia and Arizona, with British, Dutch and American fighters. Karmel also has some history with the IKF. He was the trainer of well known Women's Muay Thai fighter Deborah 'Sunshine' Fettkether. Sunshine was one of the first IKF Women's Tournament Champions winning her IKF Tournament title ( 2000 IKF/RINGSIDE USA National Amateur Kickboxing Championships) in 2000 at the second IKF Tournament of the long tournament history. She won the title with a TKO victory at :49 seconds of round 1 over Wisconsin's Julie Jackle. Karmel has since returned to the promoting and training scene and continues to promote the sport as a trainer of Thai fighters at his camp in Tempe Arizona, the Lions Den.

The night will also feature Adult Muay Thai bouts as well. Two adult men's fights will headline the nights DUAL Main Event! Rising star T. J. IKF Championship Kickboxing!
A Grand Affair Set for Sacramento's Historic Event!
The Doubletree Hotel will Rock!

By AKP Press: The countdown is on for what to be one of Sacramento, California's largest kickboxing events in years! The stage is set to bring new light to a sport not so in the spotlight but still standing strong and ready to show its greatness!

AK Promotions of Rocklin, California and partner- Tommy T's Comedy and Dinner Theatre of Rancho Cordova, California have plans to light a fire to ignite a new wave of kickboxing entertainment in the Sac. Area. This is the third show in the past six months and both prior shows have been overall very successful with action - packed bouts, a sellout show on the first one and a respectable crowd at the second show in a larger venue. Fans left wanting more and now they will get their chance to taste it once again...but this time with a bit more flare!

The Doubletree Hotel of Sacramento, California is once again opening its doors to AK Promotions Friday, February 12th at 7:PM. They were impressed enough with the last show back on November 22nd '09 to give the promotion company its beautiful Grand Ballroom this time around which is adorned with enough chandelier to impress a prince!

On fight night, the Grand Ballroom will be filled with chairs and a kickboxing ring at center mass. Lighting and Sound Producer Mr. Dennis Smith will have the ring aglow with proper lighting that will illuminate the room with a Vegas fight night ambiance. Plus, the film crew on hand will give the feel of a grand affair! Music will be blasting with the hottest sounds that will circulate and delight the ears of fight fans as they enjoy alcoholic beverages and snacks served by experienced waitresses from Tommy T's Comedy and Dinner Theatre from bars set up inside the Ballroom.

Next, Ring Announcer Wayne Wilson (Left) of Elk Grove, CA will take center stage introducing the officials and the performer of the National Anthem who is recording artist (Right) Aaron Young (AKA- AY) Young currently has songs playing on several local radio stations. He is the latest winner in a Craigslist National Anthem singing contest that AK Promotions does to find the best performer for its shows. As always, the talent was awesome- the final three had to audition twice but in the end, 'AY' pulled if off with his control and powerful singing talent.

With so much going on around the world today, like the horrific earthquake in Haiti, fight fans here in America will be reminded of how great this country is as we continue to assist those in great need across the ocean. Rest assured that Aaron's rendition of the National Anthem will set the stage for our humility as world citizens as well as the great sports entertainment to come that evening.

As fighters take their position on stage, spotlights will beam them and music will blast as fog fills the air! Ring girls will lead the way and no doubt get their share of attention as well. Soon both fighters will enter the ring on separate planks preparing to do battle in serious feet and fists of fury!

Over 15 bouts of Muay Thai / Kickboxing including men, women and a special IKF Junior title fight will be one of the main events of the evening. Perhaps, two of the smallest in the ring, may in fact have the biggest impact on the entire event.

When 12 year old and two time IKF World Classic Champion Katrina "The Storm" Nahe (Left) of Antioch, California battles 14 year old Aneka Otte (Right) of Scottsdale, Arizona, the roof may explode due to the noise fight fans will make for this much anticipated fight! The adult fighters that evening will really need to push to out-do this fight as each camp is predicting large turnouts of cheering fans with all the bells, whistles and signs needed to make this fight a real Super Fight!

Trainers of these two young ladies made it clear- (Mr. Dennis Guila for Nahe and Mr. Bob Karmel for Otte) that they are training hard and plan to take full advantage of this historic IKF title fight. It's going to be a war!

Now, saying all that, it may seem as though Nahe Vs Otte is the main event, not so. Actually, there is a smoking semi- main event and a potential title exchange in the main event if it goes in trainer Dan Blacks' of Concord, California direction.

Black had originally put forward Rick Erlec to take on the defending IKF West Coast Champion… the very crafty T.J. Arcangel (Left) of San Francisco, California. However, as of today, this match-up had to be changed. Due to personal medical issues with Erlec's father, he was forced to pull out of the bout and the IKF fully understood his and trainer Dan Black's decision.

Fortunately for T.J. Arcangel, Black was able to replace Erlec with another one of his top contender fighters, Tyler Cronin (Right) of Concord, California, (8-2).

As would be expected, long-time veteran trainer of World Champions in Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts, Kru Sam Phimsoutham, who is always quiet and confident, doesn't feel this is a possible. Kru Sam believes T. J. is also destined to become a World Champion…

We will just have to see!

Jon Pryor (Left) of Sacramento, CA who is talented with flashy boxing and kicking combinations, will get another shot for an IKF title as he takes on champion Bryan Padilla (Right) who is trained by IKF Pro World Champion Rudi Ott of Milpitas, CA.

Pryor fell a little short in his last outing for a title.

However, in the words of Cedric Robinson, trainer of Pryor and owner of Sacramento based Robinson's Tae Kwon Do Clubs, " If Jon does what he is suppose to, the title stays in Sac-town!"
Sounds like fighting words!

Media, Start the Presses! Fighters, Call Your People! Fight Fans, Make your reservations... Now! This will be the show of shows and one you will not want to miss! We hope to see you there…prepared to witness this grand affair and see why Kickboxing's light will shine brightly again while proving why it is truly one of the greatest contact sports in the world!
Forward March!

Results From AK Promotions'
"IKF KICKBOXING"
February 12th, 2010 - Sacramento, California, USA

Photos By Mr. Chris Kisela: (408) 688-6469

This event had more pre event HYPE than most World Title events! Why? It was the simple fact that this would be one of the largest and most exciting fight cards in the Sacramento area since the names of Pro Fighters Dennis Alexio and Eric Regan headlined the night.

The card didn't feature any Pro Kickboxing or Muay Thai, but to the crowd, there seemed to be little difference between amateurs and pros on this night. 15 EXPLOSIVE bouts were presented to the packed crowd at the Double Tree Hotel in Sacramento this past Friday night. Three IKF Title fights were planned but unfortunately, only one of the three was an actual "Title" fight since two of the fighters didn't make the title weight.

Nahe VS Otte
IKF GIRLS JUNIOR AMATEUR IR ATOMWEIGHT

Of the three planned titles, the one receiving the most attention from the press was the "First ever LEGAL Junior Amateur bout in the State of California." The bout featured 12 year old and two time IKF World Classic Champion Katrina "The Storm" Nahe of Antioch, California vs 14 year old Aneka Otte of Scottsdale, Arizona for the (of course) vacant IKF Girls Junior Amateur IR Western US Atomweight Title. However when Otte came in 2 lbs over the 105 weight limit, Nahe, who weighed in at 102 won the title on the scale. Still within the required 5 lb spread, the two agreed to move forward with the fight, but with no title on the line.

With a packed house watching, it was a good thing they did because we have "NEVER" seen such an excited crowd in all our years of the sport! This was a back and forth battle as these two used up every bit of the 90 second rounds to give it their all. If there was ever any down time in the action, we must have missed it because these two gave a perfect example of the term, "Buzz Saw!"

Rounds 1 and 2 were action packed but Nahe clearly had the edge winning them both 10-9. Rounds 3 and 4 were where we were glad we were not the judges. In these rounds it would not have surprised us if the judges gave them both to Otte which could have ended the bout in a draw. Unlike rounds 1 and 2, rounds 3 and 4 seemed to prove that Otte found a way to defend from Nahe's attack. Otte seemed to be blocking nearly everything Nahe was thrown her way, but in our opinion, she needed more on offense to sway the judges. All three judges gave Nahe round 3, and 2 of the 3 gave her round 4 as well.

Although the scores read unanimous, this bout was without a doubt "MUCH CLOSER THAN THE SCORECARDS READ!" On the cards, Nahe took the win with a unanimous decision win, 39-37, 39-37 and 40-36. When all was said and done, this bout had "Rematch" written all over it. If so, it will be a first defense for Nahe's title she won on the scales and confirmed in the ring. However, knowing that the gold is on the line, and seeing that Otte finally found a way to defend Nahe's explosive attack by round 3, we may end up seeing just that little extra the judges needed to see from Otte to even the final score out. If there is a "Next Time", Otte might even take the IKF Gold from Nahe, but it's Gold that won't be easy to grab from the New Champion Nahe. Regardless of the outcome, if a rematch is made, this fight alone will be sure to PACK THE HOUSE!

*Bryan Padilla VS Jon Pryor
IKF AMATEUR MUAY THAI RULES WEST COAST SUPER WELTERWEIGHT TITLE *DEFENSE

This was a title defense of Bryan Padilla's IKF Amateur Muay Thai Rules West Coast Super Welterweight Title. However, it was anything but a glory ending when he won the title on July 11th, 2009 at Phantom Promotions', "Fight Night At The Fox" in Redwood City, California, USA when he defeated previous champion, John Duenas by TKO at 1:18 of round 2. On this night, Padilla's challenger Jon Pryor found Padilla's number within round 1 and simply took it to him right at the opening bell of round 2. Pryor caught Padilla quickly and within a few seconds, (15 to be exact) this bout was over by TKO and yet "Another" new Champion was crowned for the IKF Amateur Muay Thai Rules West Coast Super Welterweight title and his name this time is Jon Pryor!

Could this be a cursed title? So far it seems likes "No One" will be allowed a successful defense of this particular title. The title was vacant when Duenas first won it on March 27th, 2009, again, at Phantom Promotions', "Fight Night At The Fox" in Redwood City, California, USA when he defeated Abel Carrasco by unanimous decision 38-37, 38-37 & 38-37. So far, the two previous Champions have lost the title on their first defense. Hopefully the result won't be the same for Pryor.

T.J. Arcangel VS Tyler Cronin
This bout was planned to be the first title defense of IKF Amateur Muay Thai Rules California Light Welterweight Title won by T.J. Arcangel back on November 22nd, 2009 in Sacramento, California at the very same venue, just in a different room, on AK Promotions' "IKF Kickboxing" when he defeated Jimmy Machado of Concord, California by unanimous decision, 40-36, 39-37 & 39-37. It was a welcomed challenge for Cronin who's the team-mate of Machado, both trained by Dan Black. However, it was a challenge that would be bitter sweet. Cronin was unable to make the title weight of 142, coming in at 144 and unable to drop the two lbs. This could have meant the end of this bout since it wasn't for a title, however, being the warrior he is, Cronin elected to still go on with the fight, without the title on the line.

Scheduled for 3 instead of the required 4 for a title bout, it was an Explosive final bout of the night that sent the crowd away wanting MORE! In the end, Arcangel took it by unanimous decision, 29-28 on all three judges cards. We look forward to a possible rematch here with Cronin making his weight and redeeming himself for the IKF Gold unless Arcangel is shooting for the IKF West Coast title or maybe even a USA Title on his next outing. But until that happens, the Gold of the IKF Amateur Muay Thai Rules California Light Welterweight Title is still proudly worn by Champion, T.J. Arcangel
