- REQUIRED MEDICAL STAFF
- Licensed Medical Doctor - MD or DO
- The IKF Will assign TWO IKF Approved Ringside Medical Doctors (MD or DO)
to your event.
- Physician(s), shall ALWAYS sit at ringside during an IKF sanctioned event close to a set of ring entree
stairs where they can access the fighting ring quickly and easily.
- Competition may not occur in the ring if the physician is not present at
ringside.
- They shall be prepared to assist if any serious emergency arises, and shall
render temporary or emergency care for cuts and minor injuries sustained by any
fighter.
- The Ringside Licensed Medical Doctor shall not leave the arena until ALL
Fighters have been checked after their bouts and confirmed OK.
- "MEDICAL DOCTOR, MD OR DO ONLY". Not a physicians assistant, A
MEDICAL DOCTOR OR DO!
- WHY TWO MEDICAL DOCTORS?
- First of all, Weigh-Ins run A LOT Faster.
- During the Event, If the Chief Ringside Physician (MD or DO) is
forced to attend to a fighter who was just injured in a bout whether at ringside
or in the locker room, NO BOUTS may take place until he/she is back at
ringside.
- ONLY when an additional Doctor is not available will only ONE Ringside
Doctor need to work an event.
- A Minimum of 1 Paramedic & 1 EMT
- There will be a minimum of ONE Licensed Paramedics & ONE Licensed EMT
in attendance at the event at ring-side while competition is occurring in the
ring.
- These Paramedics/EMT's will have in the facility, at ringside all equipment
necessary for treatment and or transportation of an injured athlete, including:
- Supply of Oxygen
- Backboard - Stretcher
- Neck Collar
- Resuscitation Equipment
- They shall be prepared to assist the event Doctor if any serious emergency
arises, and shall render temporary or emergency care for cuts and minor injuries
sustained by any fighter upon the Doctors request and guidance.
- ALL Ambulance Paramedic Staff must remain at the building at all times and
until ALL Fighters have been checked after their bouts and confirmed OK.
- Ambulance
- There will be an ambulance (mobile medical unit) on site at all
times during the event.
- If anyone (Fighter, Official, Fan etc.) needs to be transported by
the on site Ambulance to the hospital, NO FIGHT BOUT CAN TAKE PLACE
until another Ambulance arrives at the venue to replace the transporting
Ambulance.
- This way the event will always be staffed with at least 1 Ambulance and the
Ambulance Paramedic crew.
- ALL Ambulance Paramedic Staff must remain at the event at all times.
- At the conclusion of the event, after ALL Fighters have been checked and
confirmed OK, they will be dismissed if the Chief Ringside Doctors.
- PRE EVENT PHYSICALS
- PRE FIGHT PHYSICAL
- All fighters must be given an Official IKF Pre Bout
Physical within *24 hours prior
to the start of the event.
- Paramedic and/or Nurses may assist in taking vitals as long as there is a
MEDICAL DOCTOR overseeing all actions.
- ONLY the Medical Doctor can approve or not approve a fighter to
participate in a full contact bout.

- FULL FIGHTER PHYSICAL
- If a fighter is fighting for the first time with the IKF, they also must provide a FULL PHYSICAL
to be presented to the event MD, Medical Doctor when called for their Pre Fight
Physical.

- TOURNAMENT EVENTS
- (*) When a Tournament event is
conducted, fighters may attain physicals much much earlier, prior to their first
scheduled bout.
IKF
OFFICIALS - GUIDELINES
- All IKF Event
officials shall be employed by the promoter and be approved by the IKF Event Representative ONLY.
- Each official must know all rules and regulations for an
IKF Muay Thai / Kickboxing event. To find
properly qualified officials, contact the local athletic commission or work with
the IKF directly to select the best
qualified officials for each position.
- The IKF reserves all
rights to deny or appoint all necessary officials if the promoter's selections
do not meet the required qualifications of the IKF.
- Any official is found under the influence of ANY drug or
alcohol immediately prior to or during the event shall be fined by the IKF $500.00 and placed on a
suspension determined by the IKF.
- Any official at an IKF
event shall give permission to the IKF for
drug testing before or after any bout, amateur or pro and especially if the bout
is a title match. If any official is found under the influence of ANY drug, the
official shall be fined by the IKF $500.00
and placed on a suspension determined by the IKF.
- ALL officials must be pre-approved and licensed by the
IKF "UNLESS" other
IKF approved officials in the Promoters area are
available for the event.
