IKF
PRO INTERNATIONAL RULES
HEAVYWEIGHT
WORLD CHAMPION

In probably one of the greatest bouts of his career, Rick "The Jet" Roufus quieted all his critics in May of 1999 when he defeated Australia's Stan Longinidis by TKO to win the IKF International Rules Heavyweight WORLD Title.

Being new to the leg kick game, Roufus was the underdog to many critics against the experienced leg kick Champion Longinidis. In the end, Longinidis couldn't answer the bell for the 10th round due to a broken foot. The broken foot though didn't show the true damage Roufus had put on him during the 9 rounds fought. These pictures on this page reflect some of Roufus' shining moments. At the time of the stop, Roufus was ahead on all 3 judges cards, 89-81, 88-81 and 86-83.

Longinidis was competitive in rounds 1-4 where the scores were 40-36 Longinidis, 39-38 Roufus and the final judge having it 38-38 even. However, in round 5, Roufus landed a head kick (Shown several times below) which dropped Longinidis hard. After it, Longinidis was never the same and never won another round on any judges cards.

When it was all over, everyone could see the damage Roufus had did to Longinidis (Below). Although the bout was a true war between TWO GREAT FIGHTERS, Roufus on the other hand didn't seem to have a mark on him...
